TARRYTOWN, N.Y. Barbara Ann Burnette, a lifelong resident of Tarrytown, died on Thursday, July 16, at Hudson Valley Hospital in Cortlandt after a long illness. She was 80. Born and raised in Durham, N.C., Burnette graduated from North Carolina Central University with a bachelor's degree in English, moving to Tarrytown and working for the Irvington House and Abbott School until her retirement in 1994.
