The Westchester County Department of Health has several tips to help Tarrytown area residents avoid mishaps over the long holiday weekend. Included are suggestions to prevent West Nile Virus, salmonella or a food borne illness from spoiling Fourth of July fun: Harmful bacteria usually grow in the "danger zone" between 40A and 140A F, so marinate and hold meat and poultry in the refrigerator until you are ready to grill it.
