The second span of the new Gov. Mario M. Cuomo Bridge will open this weekend, weather permitting , the culmination of five years of work on the $3.9 billion Tappan Zee Bridge replacement project, which saw the demolition of the old cantilever steel Tappan Zee Bridge between South Nyack and Tarrytown, New York. The eastbound span of the new Gov. Mario M. Cuomo Bridge, shown here during final work in mid-August, will open this weekend, weather permitting.
