Some 150 local children with life-threatening medical conditions will get a helping hand from Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred when he's honored Friday at this year's annual Hudson Valley Make-A-Wish Ball. The gala, which is the chapter's biggest fundraiser each year, will get underway at 6 p.m., at the historic Abigail Kirsch at Tappan Hill Mansion, the former estate of Mark Twain, in Tarrytown.
