Sherry Saturno of Tarrytown has been awarded the 2016 Champion of Social Justice Award by the National Association of Social Workers' New York State Chapter. Saturno, director of social services at Sprain Brook Manor in Scarsdale, received the honor, which is presented to an individual for outstanding advocacy on behalf of vulnerable and oppressed groups, at the NASW Statewide Conference in Albany on Oct. 6. Saturno, a specialist in aging, also won the NASW's nationally recognized 2016 Media Award for Best Documentary earlier this year for "Human Investment," her short film about elders and caregivers.
