Irvington Middle School students competed in the New York State You Be The Chemist Challenge, sponsored by the international company, BASF, on Saturday, April 25. The competition, which took place in BASF's Tarrytown division, featured a variety of rigorous and challenging chemistry and physics questions. Sixth-grader Henry Demarest, seventh-grader Rishit Gupta, eighth-grader Aayushi Jha, seventh-grader Rishikesh Madabhushi, and seventh-grader Zachary Rosman prepared for the entrance exam, as well as the regional and state competitions by studying online tutorials prepared by the YBTC Challenge.
