Curator's Art Collection Up For Auction In Tarrytown

Stair Galleries will conduct an auction of "The Collection of Joseph T. Butler," property from the estate, on Saturday, April 25, at 10 a.m. A resident of the Hudson Valley, Butler was a curator, connoisseur and recognized scholar in the world of antiques, as well as the author of several books on American antiques and collecting. For 38 years, Butler served as the curator of Historic Hudson Valley, the Rockefeller-funded organization that is responsible for the preservation of Sunnyside, Van Cortlandt Manor, Philipsburg Manor, Montgomery Place and Union Church of Pocantico Hills.
